Thoughts on Hamlet and Catcher in the Rye both having the theme of depression with later stems to insanity?

I'm writing an essay about the theme of depression in Catcher in the Rye and how it compares to that of Hamlet and how that depression later stems to insanity. Any thoughts or suggestions about what you would include in the essay, quotes for example, would be greatly appreciated. :)
