I'm making my own baby food for my 4 month old, and one of the first foods that they suggest you feed them is banana's. The only problem with bananas is that they are so sweet, infants might not want to eat other foods after tasting bananas! So I was hoping that I could substitute the less sweet cousin, the plantain for a first baby food! Do they have different calories/nutritional value and are they just as safe as banana's to feed a baby for its first food?
